Dear Diary,

Today was one of the best days of my life! I married my soul mate, my one and only true love; Raymond Parks. You can now call me Mrs. Rosa Parks! I met Raymond at a barber where he was working at the time. I was just 19 at the time, but today I’m 20 and he is 29. Me and Raymond were wed at my mother’s house in Montgomery, Alabama. We danced all night with all of our family and friends. I never want this night to end.

Dear Diary,

Today I was just forced off a bus. I was just sitting down after my long hard day at work and just wanted to relax on the way home. I was informed by a white man very rudely that I was accidentally sitting in the white only section. He was yelling at me and then told me to get off. I didn’t want to get up because I don’t think it’s fair that the white people get their own section, however I did not want to start a big brawl. I just got out of my seat and started walking home.

Dear Diary,

Today I was arrested! I can’t believe that I would get arrested for sitting where I was allowed to. I was sitting in the segregated section of bus where I am allowed. After work everyday I ride that same bus and sit in the same seat, but today it was very crowded and more and more people kept getting on. A rude white man ordered me to go stand up in the back because he wanted to sit down. He started a huge commotion and then called the bus driver over. The bus driver told me to get up and I said that I was sitting where I was allowed to sit and I wasn’t going to move, so he called the police. The police ordered me off the bus and escorted me off. They then took me down to the station. This was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. When I was at the station they took my mug shot and put me in a small cell. Now I’m going to fall asleep and hopefully get out of jail soon.

Dear Diary,

Today I got out of jail. I was only in there for about a day, but it was one of the worst days of my life until I realized that I had influenced the Montgomery bus boycott. Martin Luther King Jr., one of my close friends was  the leader of the boycott. Every african american person did not take the bus, but instead either walked or took taxis. This boycott lasted 381 days.

Dear Diary,

Today Raymond died. I was crying all day and I’m having trouble not crying when I am writing this. He was my best friend we did everything together and he was my true love, my soul mate. He was battling cancer for five years, so we both knew it was coming. I don’t know what I’m going to do without him in my life. It will be hard, but I know that God will help through every step.
